Unlike standard quick fixes, dental crowns at Bullis Pond Dental focus on addressing the underlying structural, biomechanical, and aesthetic needs of each tooth — then developing targeted restoration plans to help patients chew comfortably, speak clearly, and feel more confident in their everyday smiles.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown (often referred to as a dental cap) is a custom-engineered branch of restorative dentistry focused on repairing, strengthening, and managing structural loss related to severely damaged, decayed, or fractured teeth. It emphasizes:

  • Restoring natural masticatory (chewing) function

  • Improving structural strength, alignment, and aesthetic harmony

  • Reducing the risk of tooth loss without extraction

  • Integrating durable biocompatible materials with precise dental engineering

Dental crowns at Bullis Pond Dental blend evidence-informed restorative approaches — including digital intraoral scanning, advanced ceramic engineering, biomechanical bite analysis, and conservative tooth preparation — to help patients recover from dental trauma, compensate intelligently for structural deficits, and optimize long-term oral performance.

Experience the Difference

Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC) is a state-of-the-art technology that removes the lab, and the time, when creating tooth restorations for the patient. It is a more economic means of treating your dental problems and is much quicker than traditional restoring techniques. CEREC can be used for crowns, partial crowns, veneers and more!

Cerec technology is the ideal way to replace or repair a tooth. You can have your repair done before anyone can even notice you need one! Contact us today to discuss getting fitted for your custom-made crown, all in one appointment! 715-895-6531

The Process
CerecImage1

If you are in need of a crown, Dr. Travis will look at your tooth and determine if you are a candidate for a CEREC crown. After his initial examination he takes a 3D impression of your tooth with a special camera that will create the most accurate ‘cast’ of your tooth.

Dr. Travis will then prep your tooth for your crown and take another virtual cast. A machine called the milling unit then creates your new restoration out of a strong ceramic material. Lastly, Dr. Travis puts a glaze on the new restoration, polishes it, and places in your mouth. It takes all of a two hour single visit!

The advantages of CEREC technology is time and comfort. The virtual mold is much more accurate then a traditional mold and the crown is created in the office. No need for a temporary crown! CEREC technology gets you in and out with a new crown quickly and comfortably!

Who Can Benefit from Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns may be appropriate for patients who:

  • Experience sharp pain or sensitivity when chewing due to structural tooth damage

  • Have large fillings that are cracked, leaking, or surrounded by recurrent decay

  • Want to restore the natural strength, shape, and appearance of a broken tooth

  • Are recovering from a root canal procedure or completing a dental implant process

  • Aim to delay or avoid tooth extraction through conservative, protective restoration

A consultation with a Bullis Pond Dental provider helps determine the best path forward for your structural health.
