Dental Implants

Your Permanent Teeth Replacement Option

At Bullis Pond Dental, patient care is at the heart of all that we do. That includes doing as much as we can for our patients, right here, under one roof. Implants are just one of the treatments that we like to provide to our patients to provide the best care that we can.

Dental Implants are a great, long-term option when you need to replace missing teeth. In fact, they are one of the largest advances in dentistry in the last few decades. Each dental implant is meant to replace a single missing tooth, but several of them can be used to replace multiple missing teeth or full dentures can be attached to multiple implants to achieve more stability and function for the denture user. Regardless of how they are used, dental implants act the most like your natural tooth when compared to all of the teeth replacement options that there are. When cared for properly, dental implants have a very long prognosis and most patients report that they feel like their original teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m Missing Multiple Teeth?

For patients who are missing most or all of their teeth in an arch, there are other implant supported options, such as bridges and dentures. The process for these is similar, in that we place the implants first and then after healing, insert the final restoration. There are several different types of dentures that could work in these situations, and so it is always best to discuss your individual options with your dentist at your next visit.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are surgically placed into your jawbone to replace a single missing tooth, multiple teeth or an entire arch of teeth. They look and feel like natural teeth, and are typically made of titanium or zirconia.

Who is a candidate for Dental Implants?

A candidate for dental implants is someone who is missing a single tooth, multiple teeth or even all of their teeth.

How are dental implants cared for?

It is recommended to brush and floss as you would your natural teeth and maintain regular dental visits every 6 months or more frequently if recommended by your dentist.

Are dental implants painful?

The surgery is performed under local anesthesia (sometimes sedation) so you wont feel any pain during the implant placement. After the implant is placed you may experience some soreness in gums but this is managed with over the counter pain medication and usually only lasts a couple of days. Once the implant has healed, it will feel just like your other natural teeth.
